Trump Calls For Macy’s Boycott After Retailer Dumps His Clothing Line After

Macy’s has become the latest business to sever ties with Donald Trump following his outburst last week about Mexicans.

Although, Trump’s clothing line does add financial value to the company and has sold well throughout stores, Macy’s views align with that of the petitioners for greater value and standards in the long-run.

The national department store chain said in a written statement that “we are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico”.

As of early Wednesday, more than 700,000 people had signed a MoveOn.org petition calling on Macy’s to cut ties with Mr Trump. The largest is on Union Square in San Francisco.

Macy’s announced on Wednesday that it is yanking Trump-branded merchandise following public outcry over his comments.

The brouhaha started after Trump made his announcement speech last month and then, after veering off from his prepared remarks, suggested that many illegal aliens from Mexico were bringing problems into the United States. Trump responds by posting the note, which includes Ramos’s personal cell phone, in full on his Twitter and Instagram accounts. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime.

“Nothing that I stated was different from what I have been saying for many years”, he said. On Tuesday, Mr Trump filed a US$500 million lawsuit against the Spanish-language TV network for dropping the event.

But Trump declared HE has “decided to terminate” his relationship with Macy’s “because of the pressure being put on them by outside sources”. It calls out Mr. Trump for making sexist comments, being a hypocrite for manufacturing products in China while complaining about shipping jobs overseas, and accusing President Barack Obama of being born outside of America after his 2012 re-election, among other issues. He also banned Univision executives from his Doral golf course adjacent to Univision’s headquarters. “It is people like this that are actually running our country because our leaders are weak and ineffective”, Trump said.

Trump, meanwhile, gave his side of the story to ET, insisting he’s the one who actually decided to end his relationship with Macy’s. Trump is a partial owner of the Miss Universe Organization, which oversees both the Miss Universe and Miss US pageants.

Trump subsequently told reporters that he would not back down on his views about immigration, telling CNN correspondent Athena Jones that he is considering legal action against NBC.
