To take advantage of the popularity of “Jane the Virgin“, CW will pair that hour with “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” this fall.
Spears - the mom of two boys - was clearly enjoying herself having what looked to be some much-needed girl time with Lexie (the daughter of her older brother, Bryan Spears). “She was literally the first pop star I ever knew existed”.
Executive producer and headwriter, Jennie Snyder Urman, expressed her pleasure at casting Spears as Rogelio’s “nemesis”.
Meanwhile, Jane’s (Gina Rodriguez) choice as to which man she will Wednesday will serve as the second main storyline for the entire season.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Spears will play the role of Rolegio’s nemesis.
The CW announced on Tuesday that Britney Spears will drop by “Jane the Virgin” as a guest star in the upcoming season.
Apparently, Spears has a “long standing feud” with Jane’s father and she would be appearing on the show to settle things once and for all.
“The quality of their interaction is a little bit in dispute between what Britney thinks and what Rogelio thinks”. Spears may not be as famous necessarily as she was five or ten years ago, but she is one of the biggest pop stars of our time and it’s a huge get for ‘Jane the Virgin’.
While there’s no doubt that the blonde beauty adores her sons - Sean Preston, 9, and Jayden James, 8 - she previously told People magazine that she’d “love a mini-me”.
“Jane the Virgin” Season 2 premieres Monday, October 12 on The CW. Rita Moreno, Nia Vardalos and Paulina Rubio were recently welcomed by the Season 1 group.
