Internet reacts to RGIII’s claim of being NFL’s best QB with LOLOLOL

That Robert Griffin III optimism train is pulling into the station like it does around every pre-season since the former NFL Offensive Rookie Of The Year tore up his leg. While the DMV faithful are hoping that RG3 can return to some semblance of his rookie year form, Griffin isn’t doing anything to manage expectations.

In a brief meeting with reporters after a morning walkthrough at training camp Sunday, McCloughan was asked about Griffin’s performance against the Cleveland Browns in Washington’s first exhibition game. I see improvement. Liked it a lot. “But it was very cool to see, especially on the second series, to see them coming off the ball and moving people”. ‘No, I think I’m pretty good but I can’t compare to Rodgers, Luck, etc.’ Whether or not you agree with his statement, you have to agree with his mindset.

Nonetheless, he is RGIII and he did say, “I feel like I’m the best quarterback in the league”, so of course that’s notable. A potential long completion was dropped by receiver Pierre Garcon.

Quite a contrast from last season.

#2. He played sparingly as a halfback and fullback in 2010, finishing the season with four carries for 19 yards and one catch for three yards, which happened to go for a touchdown. He stepped up when he didn’t have to step up and stepped into pressure. “So, from his basic performance, just critiquing Robert, it was not even close to being good enough to what we expect from that quarterback position”.

The Redskins had wanted to add another tight end before the season-ending injuries to Paul and Paulsen, who was not a lock to make the final roster. Bruce Miller and Jamize Olawale were the only other two who managed multiple touchdowns. The team also waived injured running back Silas Redd Jr., who tore his anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments Thursday.

“It’s still about controlling the line of scrimmage”, McCloughan said. “I’m not going there”.

Note: CB DeAngelo Hall injured a toe on his left foot late in practice and was being evaluated.
