Microtransactions in Destiny: emotes, prices - everything you need to know

Once Destiny is back up and running and you’ve installed update 2.0.1, the paid emotes will go live, the Shot Package will be removed from all shotguns, and you’ll be able to participate in the revamped Iron Banner. These micro transactions will only ever be for cosmetic things, such as the emotes being released tomorrow. You can hang your head in shame, cower in fear, congratulate others, throw a tantrum, perform a victory cheer, and dance the Carlton. This new currency called Silver can be used to purchase character emotes from Tess Everis in the tower and can be purchased in numerous denominations on the PlayStation and Xbox Storefronts.

You may be fretting knowing that these emotes and dances cost money, but worry not. Destiny players will pay $4.99 for 500 silver as the base price for the smallest amount, and as the amount purchased increases players will get an extra Silver in each denomination. These can be dances or a number of different moves.

Paying the game between now and December will also allow players to earn free Silver, Bungie has confirmed.
