The Beverage giant turned to the veteran official to replace a man who retires after a quarter century at the company. “Our strategic initiatives are delivering, both through our commercial strategy designed to drive growth and ongoing efficiency improvements”, Chief Executive Dimitris Lois said in a statement.

According to Mr. Kent, Mr. Quincey’s expertise especially in Latin America and Europe will be very valuable for the company; helpful in achieving its vision for 2020, and the previously announced five strategic actions.

Coca-Cola Co. makes drinks including Sprite, Powerade and Dasani.

The announcement means that Quincey could succeed Kent, 62, who was elected CEO in 2008.

Now, the company said that it is more cautious about its outlook, as Greece has introduced capital controls at the end of June, which has limiting how much people could withdraw from their bank accounts on a daily basis.

“During his more than two decades at Coca-Cola, Ahmet has made numerous contributions to our system”, Mr. Kent said. He has long immersed himself in operational details, carrying a red paint chip in his wallet to ensure the packaging of his company’s namesake cola is the exact proper hue the world over.

“There’s a lot of concern he’s too deep into the weeds”, said a former longtime employee. Among Quincey’s many accomplishments during this time was his leadership of the acquisition of innocent juice in 2009. Equities research analysts anticipate that Coca-Cola Enterprises will post $2.56 earnings per share for the current year. During the year ended December 31, 2011, products licensed to the Company through TCCC and its affiliates represented greater than 90% of its volume, with the remainder of its volume being attributable to sales of non-TCCC products.

Mr. Quincey is familiar with the health questions attached to soda consumption. “Whereas with food and drink, anything with moderation can work within your lifestyle”. They didn’t win that one, but WPP should be very happy with the results of the subsequent global creative review, which saw Coca-Cola select three WPP agencies out of the 10 roster shops pitching to be assigned the “Open Happiness” follow-up: Ogilvy New York, Madrid-based Sra Rushmore and Santo in Buenos Aires.
