The Browns intercepted Denver quarterback Peyton Manning three times - including what should have been a game-clinching interception by Barkevious Mingo in overtime.
Through five weeks, Manning hasn’t improved much, and it looks like retirement is imminent.
He threw for 290 yards but only the one touchdown and with the three interceptions he finished with a passer rating of 55.3.
Facing a third-and-six from Denver’s 14-yard line, McCown took the shotgun snap from center Alex Mack, quickly surveyed the field and rifled a pass over the middle of the Broncos’ top-ranked defense for Barnidge, who had slipped free from coverage before hauling in his second touchdown of the game. The last two of the losses have been on game-ending field goals. At least Denver recognizes the problem.

But the defense, overall, did enough to put the Browns in position to win the game, which leads us to our next point.

This Manning won’t be able to carry Denver through the AFC playoffs, but there’s more to interceptions than just interceptions. It’s admittedly not where the team wanted to be through six games, but there’s no looking back now.
The score came just seconds after the Browns had taken their only lead on Karlos Dansby’s 35-yard interception return for a TD.
Ware was carted off the field in the second quarter with back spasms and Kubiak said he’s day to day. The Browns have a long history of losing games like this.

Late in the second quarter, he missed a wide-open Sanders by a few feet. The offense still isn’t clicking the way everyone wants.
Denver will have to get better fast. Defenses unafraid to challenge Manning to beat them deep or to the outside are stacking the box and limiting RBs C.J. Manning and Kubiak recognize the turnovers and the problems they might cause down the line.
