“I might actually spontaneously explode on live television due to over excited-ness. Does that still count as unpredictable cos I’ve said it now?”
TFI Friday is back on our screens with presenter Chris Evans acting as ringmaster over the interviews, performances and wacky stunts - three people went down an improvised water slide even before the first ad break.
“I really want to stay married, and it was a case of ‘How can I best do that?’ It was about protection of a relationship”.
TFI Friday is back, baby!
As part of his research he visited a marriage counsellor, Alcohol Anonymous and a sex therapist. “Chris Evans has not phoned me yet, I’ve got nothing to do with it. Seriously I’d rather do my cars and my bikes and enjoy it. Because I think if you start doing that for a living and as a job, the pressures are different”. I may well have had. It’s also about men and their menage a trois. “I took things from her but I didn’t specifically make it about me”, he explained.
And TFI Friday was hoping to replicate that success as Chris Evans’ anarchic Channel 4 show returned for a new series on Friday night.
“I love working. Call that being a workaholic if you like, but I love everything I do, and know I’m very fortunate to be in this position”.
Others were happy though to see live music back on weekend TV, with Belinda Pappin tweeting: ‘#TFIFriday great show! “I was under a lot more pressure before”.
TFI Friday was commissioned by Channel 4’s Commissioning Editor for Live & Events, Tom Beck.
When Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri filled in last minute for another guest, Chris Evans announced her as the most lovely woman he’d ever met, flirted outrageously, and raved about their new album White On Blonde.
